Overview
MTronic is a home automation system with voice assistant compatibility, and its native Android application controls the smart home hardware. Users onboard devices, group them into scenes and automations, and manage them through a cloud backend built on AWS Amplify, with OAuth 2.0 sign-in through AWS Cognito.
Device onboarding uses BLE provisioning and nRF Mesh networking, which also carries OTA firmware updates to the hardware. The app is published on Google Play.
My contributions
- Implemented BLE provisioning and nRF Mesh networking for device onboarding.
- Built OTA firmware update workflows for smart home hardware.
- Integrated AWS Cognito (OAuth 2.0) and AWS Amplify for authentication, device provisioning and device management.
- Developed scenes, automations and device control in Jetpack Compose on MVVM with Hilt.
- Implemented MQTT publish/subscribe for real-time bidirectional communication with the hardware, and automated releases with Fastlane.
